Volunteers - Stepahead Support
Location: Various
Stepahead Support is a lifeline for communities throughout the South East of England and is renowned for its transformational skills when helping young people and families in need.
We provide young people and families with advice and support, from career advice to anger management, by appointment at our many office locations in the South East.
A rewarding experience
Volunteer for us and we will provide you with full and ongoing training to develop your skills. The sessions cover topics that concern young people and some are specific to the role you wish to undertake.
Our volunteers can operate in many differing capacities depending upon their availability, skills and preferences. The majority of Stepahead users benefit from straightforward support and advice from an adult mentor. Mentors may come from any background.
Volunteers can help for just a few hours each day, for example manning the drop in centres where our young people come for help and advice, or providing workships on DIY or a sporting interest, depending on their background.

Job Summary
To support the Regional Managers for the London and Kent care homes
and the Home Managers in all areas of Human Resources.
To Develop systems to monitor progress of all Human Resource
issues.
Main Responsibilities and Duties
1. Provide support and advice to Home Managers and staff
members with whistle blowing issues.
2. Deal with staff complaints and grievance issues swiftly and
competently.
3. Monitor sickness within the 18 care homes. Deal with
long term sickness, referral to occupational health and reach
satisfactory agreements with staff and management at an early
date.
4. Advise on legal requirements for all employment and staff
issues.
5. Liaise with union representatives, staff members and
management efficiently to find mutually satisfactory solutions to
human resource issues generally.
6. Advise on recruitment process and monitor progress.
7. Devise systems for monitoring and progressing all matters
relating to human resources.
Essential Experience/Skills

Regulations Manager

Job Summary
- To support the Regional Directors in the day to day management of the residential care homes and other regulated services. To manage local issues, particularly in relation to regulatory matters.
- To deliver the service in accordance with the Care Standards Act 2000 and the transition to the Health and Social Care Act 2008 and the organisations policies and procedures.
- To co-ordinate those services and liaise with the Operations Managers and Home Managers to ensure that the appropriate level of suitably trained staff are deployed to maintain quality services.
- To work in accordance with Avante Care & Supports Quality and Management Systems.
- To have input into marketing current services and support in the development of new registered services as required.
Essential Experience/Skills
- At least five years experience as a regulator of an adult care service
- Have an in depth knowledge of the Care Standards Act 2000 and the Health and Social Care Act 2008.
- Have an in depth understanding of the requirements of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 and the significant changes that this involves.
- Be confident to carry out pre CQC inspections and be capable of compiling detailed computerised reports on recommendations, requirements and improvements to Board standard.
- Be an excellent communicator at all levels.

Stepahead Support
Area
Manager
£27,337 per annum
At Stepahead Support we deliver a range of successful and innovative services to give young people and families with children the chance to turn things around and make life better.
As an area manager you will be responsible for managing all aspects of service delivery leading a team of dedicated and well trained staff and volunteers. As part of the Stepahead Support management team you will link day to day operational work to strategic objectives.
You will inspire your team through your leadership, motivation and organisational skills, engaging people to deliver our challenging agenda for growth and our vision for people to realise their potential and live the lives they choose.
You will be flexible and innovative in your approach to work, being an outstanding communicator who has excellent time management skills. You will ensure that budgets, contractual agreements and quality standards are met and staff are appraised and developed to deliver the best services they can. This will require you to have experience of our sector and establishing strong local networks.
For the successful candidate an enhanced CRB will be required.
