Over the last 6 months, the Government has been seeking views on its Green Paper 'Shaping the Future of Care Together' that sets out its thinking on the establishment of a National Care Service.
The Big Care Debate has been a series of Government led roadshows and stakeholder events around the country giving people the opportunity to learn about the Green Paper in detail, to share their responses and to meet and ask questions of senior policy officials.
Keen to support family members and friends of Avante Care and Support's service users to understand more about The Big Care Debate and make their views known, Avante Partnership held four Big Care Debate events during the week beginning 2nd November 2009 attended by a total of over 100 people. The event was led by Cedric Frederick, Avante Partnership's Chief Executive, who went through a presentation and answered questions about the options set out in the Green Paper about 'making the vision a reality’ and 'funding care and support in the future’.
The Family and Friends comments and responses to the questions posed in the Big Care Debate have now been sent to the Government.
