Kent based Avante Partnership, a leading south east provider of care and support to older people has signed a 3-year partnership agreement with Canterbury Christ Church University and national charity For Dementia to form 'The Dementia Services Development Centre – South East'.  The Development Centre will be one of a network of six dementia services development centres across the UK.

The Development Centre aims to establish itself as a Centre of Excellence in dementia care and will work with stakeholders across the south east to raise awareness of dementia in the community, identify how best to support the care sector to address the needs of carers and families and develop and promote service innovation.

The Dementia Services Development Centre aims to appoint its first Director within the next 3 months.

Commenting at the launch of the Dementia Services Development Centre, Cedric Frederick, Avante Partnership's Chief Executive said 'We're extremely excited about the opportunity working with Canterbury Christ Church University and For Dementia gives us.  This partnership will not only support our commitment to provide the highest quality care and support to our service users who suffer from dementia, but will allow us to make a wider contribution to the communities in which we operate’.
