On 25th March, almost 50 of Avante Partnership's managers and senior staff gathered at the Bridgewood Manor Hotel in Chatham for a one day Management Conference.
Delegates were welcomed by Brian Munday, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and heard from the days keynote speakers, Tom Noon, Chairman of social care consultants, Cordis Bright and Sharon Blackburn, Policy and Communications Director of the National Care Forum. Tom and Sharon set out their perspectives on future challenges facing the sector and challenged the organisation to respond positively to the rising expectations of customers and the demands of the public sector reform agenda.
Cedric Frederick, Avante Partnership's Chief Executive, led sessions on the results of the 2009 customer and staff surveys and managers worked in groups to discuss the feedback received and to set out the next steps.
The conference also provided the opportunity for the launch of Avante Partnership's new Customer Charter. Mary Bishop, Avante Partnership’s Quality Assurance Manager, spoke passionately about the importance of the Charter as evidence of the organisation’s commitment to be 'the most customer focused provider of care and support’.
The day was extremely successful and our managers left feeling positive about the future and confident that the organisation has the right things on its agenda.
